Author's notes introducing the lyrics from the CD booklet for "The Beginning"
Genesis 21
When the angel tells Sarah and Abraham that they're going to have a baby they both laugh. She was ninety and he, one hundred. The traditional interpretation is that their laughter was an indication of a lack of faith. But wasn't the angel really telling an impossible joke? And wasn't Isaac the punchline?
