also based on another traditional English folk song "Lovely Joan" as the counterpoint tune to "Greensleeves" in Ralph Greaves' arrangement of the Fantasia. both folk tunes were evidently used (among others) in Vaughan William's 1928 opera Sir John in Love, hence the association between the "Fantasia" and the opera.
