This is the official soundtrack album for The Tree of Life (2011), directed by Terrence Malick. Composed by Alexandre Desplat and released by Lakeshore Records on May 24, 2011.
Although billed as the film’s score, only a small portion of this album appears in the final cut. The film heavily features pre-existing classical works and original arrangements by Hanan Townshend.
Verified against theatrical and extended Blu-ray editions. Tracklist includes 13 original compositions by Desplat.
