Best known as one-third of the London Modular Alliance, Pip Williams steps out for Central Processing Unit with four deftly-crafted DJ tools. Anyone familiar with the sound of Williams, his group or the label will have a good idea of what to expect from Outer Limits, and the EP does much to meet those expectations. Everything within is built on rock-solid foundations of 808s and 303s, and each track bristles with intent as it makes a bee-line for the dancefloor. From the acidic electro-funk of the title track through to the grime-tinged techno of the two B-sides, Outer Limits is an EP that delivers on all of its initial promise.
