If I Fall (Finding Kate - If I Fall)

Kate Pavli (born 21 October 1996) known professionally as Finding Kate is an Australian/Cypriot musical artist, singer and performer.


Early life
Kate was born on 21 October 1996 in Sydney, Australia to a Cypriot mother Yiota Pavli and Australian-Cypriot father Paul Pavli. She has a younger brother called William. At the age of 5 Kate and her family moved to Limassol, Cyprus. At the age of 11 Kate took vocal lessons for 7 years covering different genres such as Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre and Classical. Kate joined Limassol Theatre Arts School in the meantime where she played several roles in musicals such as Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin and The Sound of Music. She also trained in classical piano for 5 years.


Career

In 2011 Kate won Cyprus Has Talent 2 where she met her current producer Chris Charalambides. Within a few of months, the pair were playing acoustic covers on Youtube of bands such as Evanescence, 30 Seconds To Mars and The Pretty Reckless which Kate cites are some of her biggest influences. Amy Lee, Taylor Momsen, Avril Lavigne, P!nk and Lzzy Hale have had an extraordinary impact on her musical journey.

2014 - “Inside Out”
In 2014, Kate and Chris released a 4-song EP called “Inside Out”. Chris, owner at Soundscape Studios in Cyprus, wrote, produced and mixed the EP which was played on various local radio stations in Cyprus. Singer-songwriter Rushil Ranjan wrote lyrics alongside Kate for the 4 songs. They played many successful shows in Cyprus at venues such as Ravens and 7Seas in Limassol to promote the EP with local musicians as her backing band.

In September 2015, Kate moved to London to further pursue her career in music. She briefly attended the Institute of Contemporary Music in London to study Creative Musicianship but dropped out to focus on Kate.

2016 - “If I Fall”

Kate and Chris had been working on an album in the mean-time. Chris started writing new songs and Kate co-wrote some of the melodies and lyrics. Chris’ ideas stemmed from dark vibes and chords influenced by his favourite bands such as Live, Incubus, Pearl Jam and A Perfect Circle which perfectly suited the mood and voice of Kate. As the new album was being produced Kate played many shows in London with local musicians as her band.

Finding Kate - name change
In March 2016 “Kate” underwent a name change. Kate wanted to establish herself better, so she decided on the name “Finding Kate”. She claims it was impossible for people to find her or her material online when you just searched for Kate.

In November 18th 2016, Finding Kate released her first 12-song album called “If I Fall” which included the singles “Forever”, “Get Over You” and “Inside Out”. Finding Kate’s singles had airplay on Kerrang Radio and Kerrang TV.
