Blues from the Mississippi Delta

~ Release by Son House & J.D. Short (see all versions of this release, 3 available)

Annotation

This release is using uncommon titles for the tracks by Son House.
All 7 recordings have been taken from the 1942 recording session made by Alan Lomax for the Library of Congress.
Instead of commonly used song titles (mostly given by the artist during the session), a prominent lyric line has been chosen as the track title.

My Black Woman is a recording of Walking Blues (a.k.a Death Letter Blues).
Sun Goin' Down is a recording of Low Down Dirty Dog Blues.
I Ain't Goin' to Cry No More is a recording of Depot Blues.
The Key of Minor is a recording of the tuning demonstration following Depot Blues.
This War Will Last You For Years is a recording of American Defense.
Was I Right or Wrong? is a recording of Am I Right or Wrong.
Only County Farm Blues has been commonly released under the same title.
