Ottawa Civic Centtre 1981

~ Release by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (see all versions of this release, 3 available)

Annotation

Another solid and highly satisfying set from the continuation of the
River tour in early 1981. The highlight this night for me is the
unusual fifth position inclusion of “The Price You Pay” in a wonderful
stripped down arrangement that I had forgotten was ever played. Its a
fantastic performance of one of Bruce’s least played but most beloved
songs. Also notable this night is the always welcome cover of Bobby
Fuller’s “I Fought the Law,” a plaintive (could there be any other
kind?) “Wreck on the Highway” and “I’m a Rocker” to open the encore.

-‐Butterking for JEMS

Known faults

Slight cuts in “The Promised Land” and “Hungry Heart”.
